The difference between good bloggers and mediocre bloggers is the tools they use. In this article, I am going to take you through the absolutely essential browser plugins for bloggers.
A man is only as good as his tools
I use Google Chrome and the plugins that I recommend are all on Google Chrome. Without any further delay, let’s dive right into the list.
Essential Browser Plugins for Bloggers
I love great looking fonts. Whenever I come across a good-looking font on a website or a blog, I would like to use the same font on my website as well. So how do we find out? Whatfont browser plugin will help you find the font instantly just by hovering over the text.
As you can see, just by hovering over the heading in the picture, this plugin will show the font. Go ahead, find the names of the fonts you love. You can check out the plugin here.
This is a super popular plugin and it needs no introduction. Install the browser plugin from here and you need not do anything. It is the smart assistant that goes through your words when you type and alert you whenever you commit typos or grammatical errors.
3. Full page screen capture
As the name explains, this plugin helps you to capture/screenshot the full page of a website (yes, including the scrolls). This is a very handy plugin for bloggers who would like to showcase a landing page or a specific page in general. You can check out the plugin here.
This is how my Blogging category page looks like when screen captured using the plugin.
Just click the icon and it will capture the whole page.
If you are using Tailwind to schedule your pins, this plugin will be super useful. When you hover over any images, you will have a schedule button over it which on clicking will take you to your scheduler directly.
This helps you pin faster and since it is the companion browser extension from the official app, it has got everything covered. You can check out the plugin here.
5. Keywords Everywhere
What if you could find the search volume of everything you search online? As a blogger, you would often like to know the search volume of the topics you are planning to write about.
Rather than investing in costly tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs as a beginner blogger, this plugin can save you time and money. It provides you will search volume, cost-per-click, and competition for everything that you search on Google. You can check out the Keywords Everywhere plugin here.
Here’s how the Google search results will look like after activating the Keywords everywhere plugin. You will also find related keywords along with its relevant metrics on the side as shown below.
This works on Youtube search bar as well. Though the results/metrics are not very comprehensive provided by paid tools, this does a great job being a free browser plugin. Neil Patel has come up with a comprehensive free SEO tool recently called Ubersuggest and you can check that out here.
This will come in handy when you are designing graphics for your blog on Canva. Let’s say you really like a color of a button or a background color of a design on a website but you have no idea about the color code. Enter Eye Dropper.
You just have to click the icon on the browser and select ‘Pick color from webpage’ and you will have the color code at the bottom. You can copy the color code and add it to your palate.
These are the six browser plugins for bloggers I would highly recommend.
Did I miss something on the list? Do you use any plugins as a blogger which is super essential but is missed out here? Let me know in the comments and I will update the article.
